Introduction

The new President of U.S.A. who regards "China is not a strategic partner, but a strategic rival." while his predecessor Clinton has stayed at China for 9 days without visiting Japan, is going to come into the White House. On the other hand, Bush next President pledge himself to make much of Japan and to enforce US-Japan Alliance. This means that it is likely for US to request of Japan to share some responsibility as an equal alliance. Especially, in the security field, Japan might no longer take ambiguous behavior as usual any more. The possible fundamental change of US diplomacy strongly affects Japan and Asian countries.
